Another shoebox project using the pinwheel stampset from STAMPIN'UP!..
Most of the projects were very simple and quick... some took a longer time.  I guess i like the idea of a shoebox project to be quick, simple, not a lot of pieces or construction to it.  Not that I'm in a hurry to finish, but I stamp and assemble pretty quick..and only because you are doing a sample card to give you an idea of the project so you can copy it in your own way.  Some of the project I didn't do, because they were too involved.. cute but took to long to finish.  I ended up waiting for others to finish.

5th Annual Splitcoast Event

I know its been awhile... 2 months to be exact, but with Molly here everyday, I get a little behind in things. So, this weekend  since hubby ain't home, I'm working on getting my swaps from the Spiltcoast event that I went to in Apri  uploaded and start posting. There's at least 60 items I have to take pics of and maybe I can get them all done today and start putting them on here. And,  Hopefully I can get the camera to cooperate. I already had to delete pics that I thought were good, and now I have to start taking pics all over again for uploading. Lets just say that my fingers did some walking thru the camera and screwed something up....
Have a great weekend.

Casey and medical update

I know its been awhile... being bored is hard. I'm walking with a cane now and finally driving. Hard to keep a woman housebound. Any excuse will do. Finally moved back upstairs to my bedroom.. stairs are still a little hard but its getting better. Still doing physical therapy...next doctor appointment in September.. and hopefully back to work.
Since my lab, Smokey, died, its been hard for me to get over ... and I needed something to keep me busy... well.. say hello to Casey.. she's a lab/pit mix.. 3 months old.and spoiled rotten. She's loveable, cuddley. and is very easy to train. She gets along with Jennie the cattle dog, and Lucky, my son's pit/lab puppy. She's very socialable and friendly, stays by my side, comes when I call.I picked a good one this time.
I get lots of exercize with her.. we walk everyday.. which helps in my therapy too.
Last weekend I attended the 3rd annual WNY splitcoast stampers event ... what a great time.
I'm going to start scanning a few things,..so you can see what we made.
so come back tomorrow for the first one.

Splitcoast Samples

Brayered background, very lite handed, just enuf color not too much. Very pretty. This card was created by Heidi Baks.. Thanks Heidi
Fifth Avenue floral. Love this set.. I may have to buy, just because. This was created by Kim Kowal . Just lovely

I don't remember the name of this set, but I like it too. No name on the back so I can't give credit where credit is due.. but pretty, isn't it.!?
Since the new catalog came out, i'm not sure what I want. But I haven't even used what I got so far.
I learned a few new techniques yesterday at Splitcoaststamper Spring Fest.
Another way to tie bows for cards.... beeswax technique! Holy Cow.. love the beeswax. I'm going to have to start saving pretty napkins.
More samples tomorrow. Keep in touch.

Memorial weekend

I'm getting ready for Memorial weekend. Car's packed, most necessities are in the car, just need to get cooler packed and then picking up Kaylee in about a hour. I haven't done any stamping this week, spent most of the time with having an intimate affair with Celestes cricut machine. So, I thought I would post something that I did a while ago. At least I don't think I posted it. This is PolkaDots and Paisley stamp set. The more mustard piece of cardstock is actually the flap for opening for the front of the card. Torn and stapled to the back. Its much easier to see in real life then try to explain in writing.. so just enjoy!

Hope you all have a peaceful, restful, enjoyable Memorial weekend.
See Ya'll next week.

Swaps, Samples and more

Carolyn Weichenthal made this card for the 2nd annual WNY Splitcoaststampers event. Its very pretty in real life... thanks Carolyn!

This Beehive card was made by our favorite SCS Gayla! Love this set.. maybe I should buy it!

And Becky O'Donnel made this card for the swap at the same event!
All three are very talented stampers,, don't ya think?
Last weekend I decided to do some stamp room cleaning/organizing. On the top of my list was doing something with all the card fronts and swaps and whole cards that are in boxes in my entertainment center. So, I started opening up boxes thinking I was going to find scrap paper for my big shot... uuummm NO!
By the time I was done opening boxes/bags and various other sundri items.. I found and stored 9 ... count'em 9 boxes of cards/whole and fronts. The only ones that are actually sorted are the Christmas ones... I have enuf Christmas cards to last me a couple of years!
Last nite I started putting card fronts on whole cards, and finishing the inside with words/verses... didn't get many done,, but enuf for this months birthday gifts....
unbelievable!
So thanks to all you ladies who participated in the Splitcoaststamper annual event swaps... we had a good time, didn't we???
have a great nite.

And I know there was a name on the back of the card, but I'm bad at putting things away so i can't find things ,, so thank you whom ever you are... its just lovely in real life.

As for my Stampinup order that was due in today....
I had 3 boxes coming in ... I waited and waited and waited.. checked the SU site for delivery... and waited .... and finallllllyyy the UPS truck pulls up... different driver... shoulda known right? well he brings me 2 boxes... uumm excuse me, but theres supposed to be another one... trying to be nice of course.. so he gets in truck looks around,,, NOPE only 2... the route was split between 2 drivers, he says,, if he finds it he'll bring it back.... uuummm ok,,, (and it was my FREE Saleabration set, besides)... about 2 hours later the other driver shows up ... and sure enuf there was my 3rd package in his hot little hands... not trying to be over eager,,, i gently tore it out of his hands and ran in the house.... yippee... all in... whew... I've started scanning my swaps from the Splitcoaststampers 2nd Annual event.. this one was created by Lisa Vendetti. Thank you Lisa.. very pretty, I'm actually going to use it for an occasion next weekend.

Tomorrow is our 35th wedding anniversary.... holy cow, 3 decades + amazing...
Hubbys retired, if you didn't know already, and still drives me crazy with annoying habits,,, but if we've lasted this long, whats to say we can't make to our 36th!....
We celebrated today by going out for lunch. Tomorrow, he's going out to our cabin to spend the nite.... as long as he takes his dog!
enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Beautiful day here in western New York

Saturday, April 25, 2009

I just got back from the 2nd annual Western NewYork Splitcoast Stampers Get together!
Wow!! Is all I can say... what a great time.... great food,, awesome swaps,, holy cow... here are 3 right now.. these 3 were Non Stampinup swaps, so I didn't get any names or stampsets,, thank you ladies... these are beautiful. I participated in the StampinUp only swaps and as soon as I can get them scanned in my computer I'll get them posted here. So keep checking back.
We all received a giftbag upon registration, which was filled with lots of goodies.
At our places at our tables we also received another gift, a small journal for taking notes.
After setting up our "stuff", swaps, shoebox swaps, gift exchange, we finally sat down to start our shoe box swap.... some really cute things were made by all.
As soon as I can I will scan and add here.
Lunch was incredible.... everyone brought in either a salad or dessert, and there was plenty for all.. and really delicious and luncheon meats, rolls, drinks, vegies, condiments were supplied.
There was also a drawing for some really nice items.. of which i won NONE!.. but there was a big shot machine, a package of Dirty Dozen card samples, and the big big big one, was a handmade wooden inkpad holder, large enuf to hold all 48 inkpads, refills and markers... but alas, I didn't win that either.
Afternoon activites were a make and take, a demonstration by Lisa Kind and Cheryl on Copic Markers... I like them, we practiced on some cupcake images, but at this point in time I don't know if can afford to buy them, not yet anyway.
Then on to make and takes, gift exchange, card swapping out, birthday challenge, and done! we finished all at about 4:30..
ON TO BUFFALO STAMPS AND STUFF.... we received coupons for the store, so of course I had to by more stuff for my new bigshot!
Well thats about it... my feet hurt, my back hurts, and I'm exhausted.. but I had a great time and can't wait til next year!
