Sumer of 09

From what the weather guys say, we've had 18 days of sun and heat in the month of July.. as for August,, it rained. this will be known as the worst summer,,,Summer of 09. Gotta get out to the cabin. Start closing up already!

Maybe I'll get some stamping done while I'm home.

Big Shot

Love that bigshot. Havent' played with it in a while, but after Laura's open house, I figured it was time to break it out. This sample uses the topnote and daiseys2 dies. Colors can be changed to whatever you'd like, as with any card sample you see here. As a matter of fact I CASED it from someone else, thanks, and plan on making a few more. Gotta keep busy in this crappy weather,, finally stopped raining..at least for today. Weekend is coming, so who knows what it'll be like. Summer is almost over and I barely spent anytime at our place in the country. Cause anyone who knows me,,, knows I won't go out there when the weather is nasty.... I can stay home and play with my stuff.

raining again

Well, 2 weeks ago, we were being rained on at home and at the cabin. Last week we got rained on in Massachusettes, and this week we're getting rained on again. Started raining here yesterday,, in buckets,, stopped for awhile and started again... oh well,, hope it stops soon, I wanna go to the beach with Barb and FLip and the cabin during the week.

I'm back

SO!... We spent our weekend at our country estate.... ummm.. ok cabin in the woods... ok,, one room cabin in the woods... but doesn't country estate sound better?
Saturday was chicken dinner in Lyndon... yummm... I love their chicken dinner..! It was so good! Sid is a great chicken barbequer.
Anway, the weather was gorgeous... warm, sunny, not a cloud in the sky! Kaylee had a great time. Her and I slept in the tent Saturday nite. Of course I didn't sleep well, but I did snooze! She on the other hand slept like a log! Kaylee never heard the low flying commuter jet coming in for a landing at Olean airport.. less then 2 miles away! Theres an airport beacon on our property so we get a lot of little prop planes flying around... but the jet was very low. Steve said there were a couple of low flying army planes going by too, on Friday.
It rained a pinch SUnday morning about 4am, but by the time we got up and out it had stopped and was another sunny day. Kay and I took a shopping trip to Olean for a few things... and then we went to Don and Betty's to do some swimming. Kay was in the pond for over an hour! and it wasn't very warm.. but apparently she didn't care.
And of course she played in the water with smokeyjoe, while I talked with Don and Betty and caught up on winter gossip. We went back to the "estate" and she dried off and warmed up, and we planned the rest of our day, which was pretending we were at Hamburg Fair and set up our own games of chance. She got a real kick out of this. When I pooped out, I said it was time for a walk around the park and get some icecream... so of course we cruized into Cuba, for some icecream, pretending the car ride was a roller coaster. It certainly was a nice pretend day.
I did get a call from my BFF celeste.... she said it rained in Florida for 4 days... the streets were flooding and pools had to be drained a little because of too much water.... parts of Disney were even closed because of the rain and the space shuttle had to be re routed to another landing site. Poor Celeste!

I've started scanning my swaps from the Splitcoaststampers 2nd Annual event.. this one was created by Lisa Vendetti. Thank you Lisa.. very pretty, I'm actually going to use it for an occasion next weekend.

Tomorrow is our 35th wedding anniversary.... holy cow, 3 decades + amazing...

Hubbys retired, if you didn't know already, and still drives me crazy with annoying habits,,, but if we've lasted this long, whats to say we can't make to our 36th!....

We celebrated today by going out for lunch. Tomorrow, he's going out to our cabin to spend the nite.... as long as he takes his dog!

Weather, Cold, Cold, tomorrow, cold cold col

If this is spring,,, something is wrong somewhere.... this surely isn't global warming!
I 'm sitting here in jeans, a t-shirt, 2 sweatshirts, a scarf, a woolen hat and a heating pad wrapped around my neck.... global warming... sure... whatever.
I had gloves on, but I couldn't type with them on... and my fingers are finally warming up....now if only my toes would unfreeze themselves from my 3 PAIRS OF SOCKS....so I could finally feel them.

As soon as I warm up, I'll scan the cards that Celeste and I worked on yesterday.
and post them here.... eventually, cause right now i'm in the middle of colonoscopy prep....so anything can happen at any time.....

Did everyone notice is APRIL 6th????

Yep,, the calendar says spring.....

but....

ITS SNOWING!!!! AND THIS IS GLOBAL WARMING!???

We are expecting LAKE EFFECT SNOW tonite and tomorrow... 6 days before Easter SUNDAY!!!! HELLLO... is anyone just a little tired of SNOW???? I know I am.... the only good thing is MAYBE, just MAYBE,,, we;ll get another snow day! yeah, right! Now is that wishful thinking or what????

Anyway,,, I made that card up there^ for the LateNiteStampers challenge #14..

Colors for the challenge were, Sahara Sand, Chocolate chip, very vanilla, and Baja Breeze...stamp set used was Soft Summer from the Occasions Mini.

Lets hope its a winner....

I can't wait to show you the birthday card that I'm submitting to the Splitcoaststampers WNY event ... its so cool...

well, lets hope we don't get that 2-4 inches of snow due overnite.

my budget can't handle another big gas bill.

We took Kaylee to the St.Pattys day parade in Buffalo,NY last Sunday. It was beautiful... 55degrees..Grandpa came too....and .. this is Kay sitting in Niagara Square...the parade hadn't started yet,, but half way thru she took her sweatshirt off and had her Irish t shirt on...short sleeves... a nice sunny day.. perfect for the parade.. and it was reportedly the best day weatherwise, in the history of the parade.

Weather

So, I know its been awhile... I just haven't been up to blogging. The weather is changing here, slow but sure... yesterday was a heatwave.. 50'... nice sunny day in the morning... but it changed, again, by noon, it was overcast, cloudy, and temp went down a few degrees...
BUT TODAY,,, hey,, blink your eyes, its Buffalo, weather changed again... temps in the 30's' , cloudy and its gonna rain,,, better than snow I guess..

So its February

So, its finally February!! Winter is almost over.... maybe...
We're having a heat wave here,,, a whopping 36' F!!1 A virtual heat wave! I've seen guys out in shorts and sweats! Yep,,, anything is possible here....but don't blink your eyes... cause its gonna change ... and soon... I heard vaguely that an east coast storm may hit us by tuesday.... so what else is new.?? This is Buffalo, we deal with it, and get over it... only this year its kinda hard for me.... must be old age...


Anyway,,,I got my taxes ready, I'm working on little items for school...and when those are done, I'll start stamping. I've got a few things on my mind that I'd like to share with you...
