Splitcoast Samples
Since the new catalog came out, i'm not sure what I want. But I haven't even used what I got so far.
I learned a few new techniques yesterday at Splitcoaststamper Spring Fest.
Another way to tie bows for cards.... beeswax technique! Holy Cow.. love the beeswax. I'm going to have to start saving pretty napkins.
More samples tomorrow. Keep in touch.

End of the Month Catch up.. Welcome back Celeste
Welcome back, Ms Celeste.... and family,,, hope you had a nice trip,, considering all the rain you had.! I'm almost done with your cricut. I want to cut another paper doll for Kaylee and some clothes.
I'll bring it all back during the week.

I had completely forgotten to show everyone the Mothers Day gifts I made for my daughter in law, Erin, and my next door neighbor, Barb. The top one is a note pad and pen and the cards in the middle fit in the little envie bag on the left.
I just finished my swaps for the Clarence Spring event on June 13th, I'll post those tomorrow, and now i'm trying to figure out and finish my swaps for V.C.Rocks (Virtual convention), and my gift for my online virtual roomie, Sue.

The bottom is a gift bag on the left and the flower pot box on the right filled with what else, but cards for Barb. They both loved their gifts.
Not much else going on here. Yesterday was Spring Fling for our B.O.C.E.'s functionally handicapped high school students. They had a great time,, dancing and eating and just hanging out. It was held at South Towns Academy High school in Hamburg, in their gym. The theme was "Hugs and Kisses". The classes made decorations for the walls, paper chocolate kisses, cookies for the table, vases for the tables, x's and o's to hang on the walls. We even had a D.J. with his sound system, and of course, a dance contest. Our judges were Justine and Mr. Brennen. The winners were... drum roll please.....
Mrs. Cassettas class.
They were awesome! Next year, we may have to pry the trophy out of their hands! Our thanks goes out to the Principal, Mr Braun and all the help he provided by sending some of his students to help with setup and break down afterwards.
Next up is our graduation for our functional high school students. A very nice dinner and awards ceremony is held at Grand Mannor in Clarence.
And after that.. 12 more school days til the end of this year.! Wow, how time flies!

Memorial weekend
I'm getting ready for Memorial weekend. Car's packed, most necessities are in the car, just need to get cooler packed and then picking up Kaylee in about a hour. I haven't done any stamping this week, spent most of the time with having an intimate affair with Celestes cricut machine. So, I thought I would post something that I did a while ago. At least I don't think I posted it. This is PolkaDots and Paisley stamp set. The more mustard piece of cardstock is actually the flap for opening for the front of the card. Torn and stapled to the back. Its much easier to see in real life then try to explain in writing.. so just enjoy!

Hope you all have a peaceful, restful, enjoyable Memorial weekend.
See Ya'll next week.

Hi Celeste, enjoying Florida! love your cricut
MY BFF Celeste! I'm so glad you let me borrow your machine while you're on vacation... such a good friend.....I'm having fun with your Cricu. Kaylee and I spent a little time Saturday and today making a dress up doll! So Cool... I made these cupcakes with designer paper. The large birthday cake is made using basic gray c.s. I cut 2 cakes, cut the ovals for the handles, used punched flowers to decorate the cake. I cut down a white lunch bag and glued the cake to both sides of the bag. I'm giving this to Judy for her birthday,, there are 5 cards inside made especially for her,, quilt cards. These cake bags can be up to 8" with the cricut on 12x12 paper. I also have that big cupcake stamp, you could do the same thing with that.. just stamp and cut out 2 and attach to a lunch bag, or envie bag, to hold chocolate, candy, gum...!
I admit, the cake bag isn't decorated that great..but it was my first attempt at it, so give me a little break.

Celeste also lent me all her cartridges for the cricut and her dies and embossing plates for the bigshot. Ain't she just the bestest BFF ever!?

Now I need to order more cardstock... I'm running out,, between the cricut and the big kick....!! my supplies are dwindling!
So,, time to order more paper.
Have a great day,, tomorrow is Monday,,, and only a few more weeks of school..

Swaps, Samples and more
Carolyn Weichenthal made this card for the 2nd annual WNY Splitcoaststampers event. Its very pretty in real life... thanks Carolyn! All three are very talented stampers,, don't ya think?
Last weekend I decided to do some stamp room cleaning/organizing. On the top of my list was doing something with all the card fronts and swaps and whole cards that are in boxes in my entertainment center. So, I started opening up boxes thinking I was going to find scrap paper for my big shot... uuummm NO!
By the time I was done opening boxes/bags and various other sundri items.. I found and stored 9 ... count'em 9 boxes of cards/whole and fronts. The only ones that are actually sorted are the Christmas ones... I have enuf Christmas cards to last me a couple of years!
Last nite I started putting card fronts on whole cards, and finishing the inside with words/verses... didn't get many done,, but enuf for this months birthday gifts....
unbelievable!
So thanks to all you ladies who participated in the Splitcoaststamper annual event swaps... we had a good time, didn't we???
have a great nite.

I've started scanning my swaps from the Splitcoaststampers 2nd Annual event.. this one was created by Lisa Vendetti. Thank you Lisa.. very pretty, I'm actually going to use it for an occasion next weekend.
Tomorrow is our 35th wedding anniversary.... holy cow, 3 decades + amazing...
Hubbys retired, if you didn't know already, and still drives me crazy with annoying habits,,, but if we've lasted this long, whats to say we can't make to our 36th!....
We celebrated today by going out for lunch. Tomorrow, he's going out to our cabin to spend the nite.... as long as he takes his dog!
enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Beautiful day here in western New York

Hi All..!!
Like these! So cute huh... Mothers day, Day at the beach and July 4th. The directions called for the big shot box die which I didn't have, but I used envelopes, cut in half, folded sides and bottom and got the little gussett box. other than that, these were all made with the BigShot top note die..Ok, so the umbrella was made with the scallop punch and I had to cut it by hand to make the shape...
Sorry Celeste, I didn't have any sand paper for the beach.
The flowers were made with the big shot build a flower die, and the flag uses 3 colors of top notes... piece of cake.. easy peasy. DOn't know what I'll use them for, but I figured you'd all like to see them anyway.
Nick's friend Gary got us some firewood.. brought in 2 cord so far,, If I'm lucky, we'll have enuf for next winter.... nothing like being prepared... like the grasshopper and the ant.... I'd rather pay him for firewood than national fuel.
Tomorrow!! Back to school!! yuck,,, but only 48 school days left.
the count down starts.

Buffalo Blizzard
Hi! Ya'll! So,, anybody seen the weather channel lately!? Yep, they are here in Buffalo, NY standing on frozen Lake Erie....reporting on the blizzard that been attacking us since friday morning!.... This is the one of the few times that the weatherman, has been correct this winter.
I took this picture of my car... sitting in my driveway, this morning at 10am. This was overnite snowfall. Since I had to work yesterday, the snow that fell then was cleared off when I had to head home from staff development. There's about 4-5 inches layered on the car just overnite!.... good thing it's saturday, cause I ain't going anywhere.!!! Not to mention that 'they' are predicting another 6-8 inches on top of what's on the ground now!!.. The Buffalo airport and Toronto, Canada airport have cancelled A LOT of flights coming in and going out!!
