I like the background on this... the butterfly is very pretty, the center piece and bow set it off nicely.

Another shoebox project using the pinwheel stampset from STAMPIN'UP!..
Most of the projects were very simple and quick... some took a longer time. I guess i like the idea of a shoebox project to be quick, simple, not a lot of pieces or construction to it. Not that I'm in a hurry to finish, but I stamp and assemble pretty quick..and only because you are doing a sample card to give you an idea of the project so you can copy it in your own way. Some of the project I didn't do, because they were too involved.. cute but took to long to finish. I ended up waiting for others to finish.

More SCS Swaps
The top card with the butterfly was a swap made by Candy, our personal nurse. She's a newbie and I think she did a great job...
The middle butterfly black and razzelberrry was a shoebox swap at my table.
And the bottom was another shoebox swap , the inside is an envelope with a packet of sunflower seeds.. cute.. easy peasy.....

End of the Month Catch up.. Welcome back Celeste
Welcome back, Ms Celeste.... and family,,, hope you had a nice trip,, considering all the rain you had.! I'm almost done with your cricut. I want to cut another paper doll for Kaylee and some clothes.
I'll bring it all back during the week.

I had completely forgotten to show everyone the Mothers Day gifts I made for my daughter in law, Erin, and my next door neighbor, Barb. The top one is a note pad and pen and the cards in the middle fit in the little envie bag on the left.
I just finished my swaps for the Clarence Spring event on June 13th, I'll post those tomorrow, and now i'm trying to figure out and finish my swaps for V.C.Rocks (Virtual convention), and my gift for my online virtual roomie, Sue.

Not much else going on here. Yesterday was Spring Fling for our B.O.C.E.'s functionally handicapped high school students. They had a great time,, dancing and eating and just hanging out. It was held at South Towns Academy High school in Hamburg, in their gym. The theme was "Hugs and Kisses". The classes made decorations for the walls, paper chocolate kisses, cookies for the table, vases for the tables, x's and o's to hang on the walls. We even had a D.J. with his sound system, and of course, a dance contest. Our judges were Justine and Mr. Brennen. The winners were... drum roll please.....
Mrs. Cassettas class.
They were awesome! Next year, we may have to pry the trophy out of their hands! Our thanks goes out to the Principal, Mr Braun and all the help he provided by sending some of his students to help with setup and break down afterwards.
Next up is our graduation for our functional high school students. A very nice dinner and awards ceremony is held at Grand Mannor in Clarence.
And after that.. 12 more school days til the end of this year.! Wow, how time flies!

Special card for Julies babies
I made this card for Julie's twins Christening next weekend. Thanks to Lorraine, she gave me the instructions for the cross....here's a link to her blog.
The white background is StampinUP shimery white cardstock, and the sizzix swissdot embossing folder, can't see the dotted background too well tho. The flowers are from the pretties kit, and little crystal flowers in the center I bought at our local stamping store....
Thank, again, Lorraine.
Happy Mothers Day, Ya'll
I made this for Julie, my friend and hairdresser for almost 30years....she's a new mom, with a set of twins, Serena and Tristan. The set includes a set of cards and notepad and penset. The item on the left is a small gift bag made out of an oversize envelope.. I covered it in different designer paper. I got the idea for the envelope from a swap I received along time ago,, so thanks to whomever you are, there was no name on the swap item.
I made this for my daughter in law for mothers day. The same envelope idea except I used a white lunch bag cut down to an appropriate size, covered in DSDpaper. The item on the left is a flower pot card. The front has the topnote die folded in half with a flower on it and inside it says Happy Mothers day.
When the pot is opened the flowers pop out kinda, and its filled with lottery scratch off tickets. I hope she wins,, !
Did mention the weather is crappy! Temps went from the 70's on Friday, to high 40's today.. rain, cloudy.... oh well,, this is Buffalo, NY,, don't blink your eyes, cause in 10 minutes it will allllllll change again.!
Happy Mothers Day Everyone! Enjoy your day, do lots of whatever you want, expecially stampin!
My son and his wife are taking me out to dinner,, and the restaurant is a surprize... so wish me luck! I'm sure Nick will pick a good one!

Wow!! Is all I can say... what a great time.... great food,, awesome swaps,, holy cow... here are 3 right now.. these 3 were Non Stampinup swaps, so I didn't get any names or stampsets,, thank you ladies... these are beautiful. I participated in the StampinUp only swaps and as soon as I can get them scanned in my computer I'll get them posted here. So keep checking back.
We all received a giftbag upon registration, which was filled with lots of goodies.
At our places at our tables we also received another gift, a small journal for taking notes.
After setting up our "stuff", swaps, shoebox swaps, gift exchange, we finally sat down to start our shoe box swap.... some really cute things were made by all.
As soon as I can I will scan and add here.
As soon as I can I will scan and add here.
Lunch was incredible.... everyone brought in either a salad or dessert, and there was plenty for all.. and really delicious and luncheon meats, rolls, drinks, vegies, condiments were supplied.
There was also a drawing for some really nice items.. of which i won NONE!.. but there was a big shot machine, a package of Dirty Dozen card samples, and the big big big one, was a handmade wooden inkpad holder, large enuf to hold all 48 inkpads, refills and markers... but alas, I didn't win that either.
Afternoon activites were a make and take, a demonstration by Lisa Kind and Cheryl on Copic Markers... I like them, we practiced on some cupcake images, but at this point in time I don't know if can afford to buy them, not yet anyway.
Then on to make and takes, gift exchange, card swapping out, birthday challenge, and done! we finished all at about 4:30..
ON TO BUFFALO STAMPS AND STUFF.... we received coupons for the store, so of course I had to by more stuff for my new bigshot!
Well thats about it... my feet hurt, my back hurts, and I'm exhausted.. but I had a great time and can't wait til next year!

More Samples
So, I've been spending time with Celeste during my Easter Vacation... we've made a lot of cards. She even put the Cricket Machine away so we wouldn't spend so much time on it....we were getting out of hand. We did our own mini shoe box swap, to make up for the time spent on the cricket.I have lots of stuff to show you, but I'll start with the first item, her shoebox book marks. On the brown one, she made the purses with the Stampinup punch, and scrapbooking paper. The next one used one of our stamps.. I forget which one, using the margarita glass and crystal effects, non su paper, and of course, her favorite item, sandpaper for the sand on the bottom of the card.
Cute? I think so.
I have more samples..so come back again next week and check them out.

Samples

Sorry i haven't been posting in awhile. I needed to get some samples.. from Celeste!
She is so creative. She came over last week, and grabbed some stamp sets of mine.. current ones, that I couldn't decide whether I liked them and couldn't figure out what to do with them...pick a petal, simply said, and seaside,,, its called impulse buying, I know. She made some nice cards, didn't she?
Theres one more she made,, but I can't show you right now, cause its a secret.
Anyway, I spent the evening with her last nite, and we cut more stuff with her Cricket machine. I have 2 babies just born to friends of mine, and I'd like to make thank you cards for them.. when the cards are done, I'll post them.
I took over a stack of designer paper with me, but I'm so anal retentive, I didn't have the heart to cut any of it....
We'll be getting together next week too, to make cards this time.

These flowers are really very easy to make....
Wanna learn...???? Book a workshop now and you'll learn this technique and more...!!
I made this using our designer paper ,,, and baroque motifs and soft summer stamp sets....
If you haven't seen the new Occasions Mini,, I think you can look at it on the Stampinup website... go check it out.
Also.... if you're thinking of becoming a Stampin'UP! demonstrator, now is the best time. StampinUP! is giving you a chance to purchase the demo kit with 3 easy payments... AND you can sign up online and be a demonstrator the next day....
If you haven't seen the thermometer on the right sidebar,,, let me tell you what the tempature was today... I can't believe its spring, and April is 2 days away...temp was 30' this morning... I think its about 36 now... just a little nippy....
Can't wait for the heat to kick in out there.
Check back tomorrow for more card samples.
